He visited the cabin again today, after 6 long years,
His dad’s cabin,
Where his dad used to work, doing his research and experimenting on chemicals,
Still the same setup, he recollected,
Burette’s and Pipette’s, bottled chemicals with warning labels on them,
Various distinct beakers placed side by side,
He still remembers the day, when the Chief officers mourned their friend’s demise,
They came to his home, handed his dad’s nameplate,
And the coffee mug with his dad’s name on it,
And all the awards he received,
His mom was in tears,
He became immune observing transition of his mom’s eye from dry to moist and teary,
Life around him was quite normal around him,
Only his world was shattered into million pieces,
His dad always inspired him, the way his dad was punctual towards his work,
Even though his dad’s friends were corrupt,
But that corruption could never reach his dad,
His dad was a special person,
And yes, Special people don’t lead a longer life.
Life is too short, my dear readers, we always encounter situations which let us think “What if I told him/her what I feel?”, “What if I conveyed this to him/her earlier”, and so on the “What if’s” never end.Â
We, humans, have an average life expectancy of 69-72 years (according to Google), out of which 5 years we struggle to say a word, the next 5 years we struggle to interpret between things, the coming 5 years we get to know a lot many things and we process a lot of information.Â
And then we make friends who compliment our personality. We hesitate to convey what we always desired to, just because we pre-compute things on the basis of placing ourselves hypothetically in their shoes without realising how pre-computing actually burdens our inner self. With this being said, One needs to know it is impossible to think or to analyze what other people would think practically, each one of us holds a complex brain which reacts to situations in a different pattern by continuous learning and implementation mechanism.
Finally, I would love to conclude this blog by making a request to you, readers,
Life does really fasten once you attain a specific age, it’s never too late to pursue your hobbies or to talk to a person you love the most, as these are the only two things that would slow the ageing process (ofcourse, not scientifically proven), but this is what I believe in.
A happy and Lovely New Year to all my readers rather Friends who are from this wonderful WordPress family from whose write-ups I learnt a lot. Thank you for all your love and I hope you shower the same till infinity and beyond!
P.S.: I hope you convey what you always desired to, to your loved ones this year end.
Lot’s of Love,
Kalyan

That’s right! Being 26 I finally started to feel ‘old’ enough to not care about what others will think or say and just do all of the things I want to do – after all, life’s short and there’s no point in not doing something we’d love to do.
Happy New Year to you too!

Your poem made my eyes teary for a while. It had a lot of emotions in it.
Also, I’m agree with the way you’ve tried to convey how life is unpredictable. I’ve seen cases where I had a word with people a night before and next day I don’t find them awake.
And it feels so bad to hold a grudge or secrecy for a person. We should always respect life and live all the moments.
Thanks for sharing your precious views, Kalyan.

Can’t agree more, Sumit. It does feel bad to hold grudge against someone. Life is a temporary phase where we create permanent memories. Thank you for your appreciation, means a lot to a budding blogger!
