Let Me Drive You Home Tonight

It has been 20 years since we got married,

And you never had a single complaint against me,

You are flawless and beautiful from the core of your heart,

You never underestimated my potential,

You never gave up on me,

You always gave me the daily confidence boost,

Your pep talks, your attitude towards life,

The way you shower your love upon me,

The way you swivel and make your way through the verandah,

It is so soothing to see you in your comfort zone,

You never gave up,

You were always the centre of attraction in this empty house,

You transformed this “House” into a “Home”,

Warm and cosy,

I never saw fear in your eyes,

Never did I even observe a sense of dissatisfaction in your voice,

You must be tired, working the whole day at your office,

Let me take a leave tonight,

Allow me to take you to the unexplored places,

Untouched by humans,

Let me spend time with you tonight,

It has been a long day for me,

I returned after a long time,

Serving my mother nation,

Let me adore you tonight, with you falling asleep in my lap,

Like a kid who returned from school a sunny afternoon,

Let me drive you home tonight.

P.S: A fictional and pure love story that I framed. Do let me know what you think about this story in the comments section. “Love” is not all about complex concepts, it’s quite simple, mere gestures can show an individuals love towards other. It just takes a couple of seconds and a few expressions!
